A study of greens

We were supposed to receive unheard-of snow showers, or so the weather guessers foretold last week.  The temperatures have dropped to rather frigid lows at night; however, not an icicle or snowflake to be sighted!

Nonetheless, I pulled all of the outside potted plants under cover for the weekend and came inside with a full bunch of Swiss Chard (which I just learned is also referred to as Silverbeet, Perpetual Spinach, Crab Beet, and Mangold).  'Looking forward to cooking it up soon -- aren't these leafy greens rich and colourful?
